Gingersnaps are so easy to make and so delicious. The longer you bake them the crunchier they get. I like mine crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. They are so good, they're sure to be a hit!
Ingredients:
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 C. Molasses
- 3/4 C. Shortening
- 2 tsp. Soda
- 2 C. Flour
- 1/4 tsp. Salt
- 1 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1 tsp. Ginger
- 1 tsp. Cloves
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cream egg, sugar, molasses, and shortening together in a medium bowl.
- Add soda, flour, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. Stir until well mixed. Batter will be sticky.
- Form into balls about the size of a quarter, and roll into sugar.
- Bake for 8 mins, longer if you want them crunchier. Let cool for 1 minute, then move to cooling rack.
